Hans Leijerzapf
Hans Leijerzapf was born in Leiden in 1951. In 1974 he graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in graphics and painting.
At the Academy, Hans already had a predilection for anecdotal painting and drawing and thought that art should not be “exalted”, but rather part of society. Over the years, he developed his style and choice of subjects.
Hans Leijerzapf has a thing for men who are busy with everyday or unusual objects. They are often clumsy poses, as if the men are doing something useless and the object doesn't matter at all.
