Edith Madou

All artworks by Edith Madou have a prominent place for typical Dutch fish. The theme of her work exudes a typical Dutch atmosphere around conviviality, food, history, romance and homeliness. They have become tangible fantasies and fabrications. A representation of the world in her head, of image fragments, memories, fantasy and daydreams. She composes part of her artwork from various materials, wood, glass, old objects, antiques and kitchen utensils from grandmother's time, with which ceramic fish are combined. This creates works of art that connect the past and the present.
